Study the public opinion on constitutional changes, 2017

„Institute of studies and social analysis” by the order of the office of president of Georgia conducted a sociological research that aimed to study the attitude of Georgian population regarding constitutional changes.

The research had two objectives:

• Study the attitude of Georgian population regarding the main constitutional changes (Revision of presidential powers, the election of the president, reorganization of the electoral system, etc.)
• Assessment of the new constitution project in the context of different target groups that are defined by social-demographic characteristics (gender, age, education, residence, etc.)

The target group of the research was the population of Georgia (18 years and above). 1500 respondents were interviewed with face-to-face interview method in Tbilisi and regions, (Adjara, Imereti, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli). The margin error of sampling was 2.5% (for the whole sampling).

Fieldworks continued for 10 days, from May of 24 to June 4, 2017.
