Study of the rights of patients belonging to ethnic minorities, 2016

The aim of the research was to determine how the ethnic minorities use health care services and how the rights of medical services users (patients) are protected in these groups.

The quantitative research was conducted in families, using interview method, face-to-face interview in particular.

The target group of the research comprised representatives of ethnic minorities living in Georgia, Azerbaijanians and Armenians mostly, aged 18 years and above.

The sample size was determined by 1004 respondents. However, the respondents provided information about their family members( 3623 members in total) regarding different directions. Respectively, the research can be considered as a household survey as well.

Respondents were distributed to separate regions as follows:

  • Tbilisi - 100
  • Kakheti - 100
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 352
  • Kvemo Kartli - 452
